You have probably experienced an Awkward Moment if :

  • You have trouble keeping your eyes from glancing down while talking to a lady with a low cut top
  • You forget after insisting you will remember
  • You ask a woman when the baby is due, and THEN find out she isn’t pregnant
  • You are asked to respond, after you only pretended to hear the question
  • You spit food at someone, while talking
  • While singing aloud, one of your favorite melodies in Church, you joyfully start verse three, while everyone else concluded with verse two
  • An acquaintance caringly asks, “So how are you lately?” You quickly blurt out that you have been suffering from a nasty cold, and could hardly sleep last night, only to then realize that the question was meant for the mutual friend, who is standing there.

In addition to hundreds of real life Awkward Moments You will find thought provoking questions such as:

  • Which is Worse?
Giving a gift, purchased at a real bargain, and forgetting to remove the price tag
    Or
Receiving a gift, which still has the clearance marked price tag
  • Which is Worse?
Opening your hotel door, and finding the room is occupied, by a couple, who are in a very compromising position
    Or
Settling into your hotel room, with your spouse, only to be caught by another hotel guest, registered to the same room

And True stories:

READ IT and WEEP

A CEO, of a large company, was going through a divorce, and he offered his wife a large settlement. However, on the day of the proceeding, his company was in the news, since it was being bought out in a hostile takeover. The value of his company, as broadcasted in the news, was significantly higher than the amount the husband was claiming it to be. Imagine the husband’s reaction when the wife’s attorney brought in the business section of the newspaper.

STUMPED

With the popularity of SUV’s, you have a lot of people driving them who have no right to be behind the wheel of a vehicle with that much power. I am one of those people. The most awkward moment that I ever had was when I decided to go “4-wheel driving” in my back yard over a tree stump. Unfortunately, I somehow got the stump wedged between the right front tire and the body of the vehicle. Although these trucks are supposed to drive through everything, I got stuck in my own back yard! The embarrassment is beyond belief when you have to call a tow truck to tow your 4-wheel drive all terrain vehicle from your own backyard. My friends and family have never let me live down that awkward moment.

JOY to the WORLD

During a crowded Christmas Eve service, our four year old, who was busying himself, got his finger caught in a small hole, in the metal framework of the kneeler. My wife, who first noticed our trapped son, bent down to free him. Finding that the finger was quickly swelling, and our son’s patience running out, she tugged on my arm, pulling me over to the dilemma. My father noticed the hushed commotion, and bent down too. His little finger was red and puffy, so I stopped twisting it, and decided to apply my saliva. Unfortunately, in panic situations such as this, my mouth becomes bone dry! So, I asked our son to spit in my hand. Immediately, my wife and father began to gather their spit. It was quiet in the church, and I was concerned our son would begin to scream, which would bring the service to a halt, in order to dismantle the kneeler, to rescue the finger. I began to examine how the kneeler was made, and wondered how quickly could we detach it from the pew.
Just as the congregation raised their voices in song, our four year old began to cry, afraid he was trapped forever. A woman, in the pew behind us, now watched the four of us busy down on the floor, and realized the problem. She gave us her hand lotion, which we quickly lathered on his finger. As if on cue, his swollen finger popped out of the hole, as the choir sang, “Joy to the World”. Awkward as it was, we gave thanks that Christmas for a little bit of lotion.
